CJ Burton joined Gray Reed in 2025 after serving as a Summer Associate in 2024. During his summer experience, he worked with the firm's litigators on complex matters, gaining practical experience in litigation strategy and client service.
While studying law at the University of Texas, CJ served with the Criminal Defense Clinic where he represented clients in Travis County Court, developing courtroom experience and negotiation skills, and was certified as a mediator by the Center for Public Policy Dispute Resolution. In addition to his academic pursuits, CJ was active in a number of student organizations, including the Texas Review of Billiards Law, the Texas Review of Law & Politics, and the Christian Legal Society.
His editorial leadership, diverse legal interests, and clinic experience provide a strong foundation for litigation practice across multiple areas.
