Gray Reed Energy Partner Ranks Fifth in Texas-Led M&A Deals in Texas Lawbook Rankings

Gray Reed Partner and Energy Practice Group Leader Philip Jordan ranked fifth in deal count for Texas-led mergers and acquisitions transactions in The Texas Lawbook’s 2024 Corporate Deal Tracker, recognizing his significant role in the state’s M&A landscape, specifically within the oil and gas industry.

Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Jordan guides upstream and midstream clients with operations across the country through a broad range of strategic transactions involving the exploration, development, production, marketing and transportation of crude oil and natural gas. He has successfully negotiated and closed nearly every type of oil and gas deal imaginable, from complex acquisitions, divestitures and mergers to gathering agreements, farmout agreements and various other commercial and operational transactions.

In addition to structuring complex transactions, Jordan also leverages his previous in-house experience to help clients solve everyday problems and develop long-term strategies to expand their businesses while also minimizing risk.

"This ranking is a testament to the incredible collaborative effort of our entire energy team," Jordan says. "While my name is on this list, the success we've achieved is the result of dedicated team members like Tiffany Taylor and Constanza Recchini, whose strategic insights, meticulous work and unwavering commitment have been instrumental in delivering exceptional value to our clients."

According to The Texas Lawbook, Jordan advised on 17 M&A transactions in 2024, highlighting the firm's robust deal-making capabilities and strategic approach to energy sector transactions. (Note: Gray Reed's overall Mergers and Acquisitions practice ranked sixth in the 2024 Texas-Led Corporate Deal Tracker.)
